Important notes:
• The Middle East (West Asia) is not a continent. It is a loosely defined region with no clear boundaries. Some definitions of it include parts of Northern Africa. The intent of this quiz is primarily to provide a quiz on the parts of Western Asia which did not appear, due to map size, in the Asian quiz. (And yes, I've got some overlap - some countries appear in both the Middle East and Asian quizzes. Consider it an opportunity for extra practice.) I make no claim that the countries in this quiz match any one of the many loose definitions of the "middle east". Please consult with your teacher/professor and/or various resources on the internet for more information on the definition of the middle east.
• Armenia and Azerbaijan have long been associated with the Middle East but some sources now consider them part of Europe based on their economic and political trends.
• Cyprus and Georgia are part of Europe, but are included in this quiz because they were cut off on the Europe quiz.
• Kazakhstan is part of Asia but not generally considered part of the Middle East
